On the other hand and under the patronization of Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence and Aviation and Inspector General and head of the National Commission for Wildlife Conservation and Development (NCWCD), the second phase of project to release falcons used for hunting to their original environment in Central Asia will be implemented. The Project aims at preserving different kinds of falcons and hawks from extinction and 41 falcons will be set free in their natural environment in Kazakhstan. Prince Saud Al-Faisal, Foreign Minister and Director General of the National Commission for Wildlife Conservation and Development NCWCD said this generous initiative by Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz stressed the pioneering role the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques plays in preserving the environment and wild life. He added that this project is a clear response to those who say that the Gulf region is the cemetery of immigrating birds especially falcons and hawks. The Commission has called on those who practice hunting with falcons and wish to participate in the project to donate their falcons who are one year or less old. The Commission registered information about the birds, received them and has implemented the health required regulations before freeing the falcons and hawks. On the other hand a Saudi businessman has allocated the sum of SR 500 thousand for the best design for a square which will be named after Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz on the occasion of his recovery from the operation he had undergone. Khalid Al Shbaili, chairman of the board of directors of Al Shbaili group said this sum was allocated for the design of the square that will honour Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz personality. He added that the square is at the entrance of the Kingdom with Bahrain. |
