The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd Ibn Abdul Aziz received Egypt's President Mohammed Hosni Mubarak and his accompanying delegation.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques welcomed President Mubarak in his second country, wishing him good stay. On his part, the Egyptian president thanked the monarch for his warm welcome and generous hospitality, wishing the Kingdom steady progress and prosperity.

King Fahd and President Mubarak reviewed the overall situations at Arab, Islamic and International arenas, notably the Palestinian cause and the situation in Iraq.

They also discussed aspects of cooperation between the two countries and ways of enhancing them in all fields.

Crown Prince Abdullah Ibn Abdul Aziz Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard, gave a lunch party at his palace in Riyadh in honor of visiting President Mohammed Hosni Mubarak of Egypt and his accompanying delegation.

The party was attended by Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Second Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General; Prince Mit'eb Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs; Prince Abdullah Ibn Mohammed Al Saud; Prince Salman Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Governor of Riyadh Region; other princes; ministers; and senior civil and military officials.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd Ibn Abdul Aziz received a message from President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan.

The message was delivered by Azerbaijan's foreign minister Elmar Mammadyarov during an audience attended by a number of princes and officials.

Crown Prince Abdullah Ibn Abdul Aziz, Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard, has sent a message to Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahayan, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), concerning the bilateral relations between the two countries and issues of mutual concern.

The message was delivered to Sheikh Khalifa by Minister of State and Member of Cabinet Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-E'ban during an audience in Al-Ein.

Iran's Minister of Culture and Guidance Dr. Ahmad Masjed Jamei expressed his appreciation of and thanks to the Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Fuad Ibn Abdul Salam Al-Farsi for his interest in the development of cultural relations between the two countries and his efforts to hold the Iranian Cultural 1st Week in Riyadh.

In a press conference held, Dr. Jamei shed light on the development of cultural and information relations between the two countries, pointing in this regard to the current visit being paid by the Saudi media delegation to Iran, the opening of an office of the Saudi Press Agency in Tehran and an office of the Iranian News Agency in Riyadh, and holding the Iranian Cultural Week currently in Riyadh.

He hoped that a Saudi Cultural Week will be held in Iran soon.

Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Fouad Ibn Abdul Salam Al-Farsi and Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ahmad Masjed Jamei opened the Iranian Cultural Week.

The inaugural ceremony of the seven-day event was attended by Prince Turki Ibn Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Assistant Minister of Culture and Information, Prince Turki Ibn Mohammad Al Saud Al-Kabeer, the Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, and other senior officials.

In speeches on the occasion, the two ministers highlighted the importance of strengthening the Saudi-Iranian relations in the cultural field.

In Riyadh Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Second Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, received at his palace in Riyadh a copy of the 40th annual report of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency.

The report, which reviews the prominent economic developments int the domestic field for last year and the most recent developments for the current year, was delivered to Prince Sultan by SAMA's Governor Hamad Alsayyari.

The audience was attended by Dr. Ibrahim Ibn Abdul Aziz Al Assaf, the Minister of Finance, and SAMA's Deputy Governor Dr. Mohammed Ibn Sulaiman Al Jaser.

Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Second Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, also received the twenty third meeting of the board of directors of the General Organization for Military Industries.

At the beginning of the meeting Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz welcomed the attendance and the new members and thanked the former members. The board discussed the achievements of the organization and reviewed the new agenda which included providing more support to the organization.

Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Second Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, received the Chairman of Kyrgyzstan's Parliament Al-tai Borayev and his accompanying delegation.

They reviewed aspects of cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Kyrgyzstan.

In Tunis, Arab Interior Ministers Council started its 22nd session under the patronage of President Zine Elabidine ben Ali of Tunisia.

Prince Naif Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Interior Minister, leads Saudi Arabia's delegation to the two-day meeting.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Prince Naif extended his thanks to the Tunisian authorities for their warm reception, generous hospitality and sincere interest in the Arab security issue.

He reassured the ministers that despite some criminal phenomena and deviant trends that have recently inflicted some parts of the region, the Arab world people still feel very secure. The security situation is not as exacerbating as portrayed by the media or as others would like to see, he said, adding that since the Arab nationals feel that souls, properties and money are not vulnerable, then security is intact.

He told the meeting that security is not reached by just creating security fully-equipped authorities but also by crystallizing the feeling that the individual is not in danger.

Tunisian Minister of Interior and Local Development Rafiq Belhaj Qasim also addressed the meeting on behalf of President Zine Elabidine ben Ali.

Prince Naif Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Saudi Minister of Interior, arrived in Tunis to lead the Saudi Arabian delegation to the Arab Interior Ministers Council's 22nd session.

He was received at the airport by Tunisia's Minister of Interior and Local Development Rafiq Al Haj Qasem and other officials.

Prince Naif Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Interior Minister and Honorary President of the Arab Interior Ministers Council, graced the lunch party held by the council's Secretary General Dr. Mohammed bin Ali Koman in honor of the Arab interior ministers currently taking part in the council's 22nd session in the Tunisian capital of Tunis.

The event was also attended by Prince Naif's accompanying delegation and Saudi Ambassador to Tunisia Ahmed Ibn Ali Al-Qahtani.

The Arab Interior Ministers Council wound up their two-day 22nd conference which was held at the headquarters of the Secretariat General of the Arab Interior Ministers Council in the Tunisian capital, Tunis.

Prince Naif Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Interior Minister, leads Saudi Arabia's delegation to the meeting.

Naif Arab University for Security Sciences participated in the 22nd session of the Arab Interior Ministers.

The participants of the 3-day meeting reviewed a number of topics including the report submitted by Prince Naif Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Interior Minister and Honorary President of the Council of the Arab Interior Ministers, and who is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Naif Arab University for Security Sciences.

The report contains the achievements attained by the University in the field of developing and training the personnel of the security organs in the Arab countries.

It is worth mentioning that Naif Arab University for Security Sciences participated in the meeting of the Arab Interior Ministers in its capacity as the scientific organ for the Council of the Arab Interior Ministers.

Secretary General of the Arab Interior Ministers Council, AIMC Mohammed Ben Ali Koman has indicated that the AIMC meeting, constitutes an important opportunity for consultation and for exchanging opinion in the framework of boosting joint Arab security and to provide the maximum extent of security and stability in the Arab countries.

In an interview published by Saudi daily Okaz, Koman added that activating the Arab agreement on combating terrorism , discussing the possibility of holding a joint meeting for the representatives of the Arab Interior and Justice Ministries ,and endorsement of the Arab anti-Corruption Drive Agreement will be on top of the agenda.

Prince Naif Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Saudi Minister of Interior and Honorary Chairman of the Arab Interior Ministers Council, described the 22nd session of the council, which concluded its deliberations in Tunis, as successful.

Speaking at joint press conference with Egypt's Interior Minister Habib Al-Adly, Prince Naif also thanked Egypt for its cooperation and support for the Kingdom's position in fighting terrorism. Prince Naif also expressed satisfaction over works of the session and described its outcome as "successful."

Prince Naif Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Saudi Interior Minister and the Honorary Chairman of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers (CAIM) praised the atmosphere in which the 22nd session of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers was held in Tunis.

"Moreover, the Arab Interior Ministers have understood well what has been done by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to combat terrorism," Prince Naif said.

In an answer to a question about Arab Naif University for Security Sciences, he replied that the university when first established was a center, then developed into an academy and after the scientific studies and consultations with Arab universities the board of directors decided to convert it to a university and submit the matter to the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, which approved the decision.

In his address at the joint press conference in Tunis, Egyptian Interior Minister Habib Al-Adly indicated that a comprehensive security agreement is still under discussion by Ministers of Justice to make some amendments. "But, unfortunately the agreement is not served well by the media."

Prince Naif also talked about the meeting held last year with Arab Ministers of Information and pointed out that there were decisions and recommendations taken in the meeting but unfortunately the agreement was not activated.

He added "we are still lagging behind in the media at the level of security and I hope there should be no misunderstanding that the Ministry of Interior is seeking for influence on the media when we ask for the media participation."

He said "We need the intellectual efforts from the universities through researches and from Arab Ministers of Information to do their best in this field and from religious scholars to dry up the source of terrorism.

"We have to purify the mistaken ideas and replace them by right ones since Islam is bigger and higher than being distorted" said Prince Naif.

He pointed out that the Arab agreement of combating terrorism was not properly activated and the bilateral cooperation is more useful but while there is an agreement approved, Arab countries that had not endorsed it, should now approve it.

Replying a question about the Council of Arab Interior Ministers (CAIM) relations with Iraqi Ministry of Interior, Prince Naif said "The Council stands along with Iraqi security in all fields especially the neighboring countries and there are a lot of things decided in the meeting held in Iran late last month and early this month and I hope they are executed."

He said that the dealing with the terrorists is excellent and all details are shown to the public opinion.

"The danger of terrorist attacks is still remaining although key terrorists were annihilated including the last security operation last Wednesday" Prince Naif added.

Talking about the International Conference on Terrorism, Prince Naif said the aim of this initiative is to clarify Kingdom's attitude towards terrorism since it was the country most harmed from these actions, consequently this conference is an international contribution to take a collective position against terrorism except the national work by sons of a country to acquire their rights such as the Palestinian people.
