Crown Prince Abdullah Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, arrived in Sharm Al Sheikh coming from Casablanca, Morocco, for a visit to Egypt.

Crown Prince Abdullah was received at Sharm Al-Sheikh airport by President Mohammed Hosni Mubarak of Egypt; Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Nazeef; Minister of Defense and Military Production General Hussein Tantawi; Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul-Ghait; Minister of Information Dr. Anas Al-Feqi; Minister Omer Sulaiman; Saudi Ambassador to Cairo Ibrahim Alsaad Albarahim; and senior officials.

Crown Prince Abdullah was accompanied by Prince Saud Al-Faisal, the Foreign Minister; Prince Faisal Ibn Abdullah Ibn Mohammed Al Saud, Assistant Chief of General Intelligence; Prince Turki Ibn Abdullah Ibn Mohammed Al Saud, Advisor at the Crown Prince's Court; Prince Mansour Ibn Nassir Ibn Abdul Aziz; Prince Dr. Bandar Ibn Salman Ibn Mohammed Al Saud, Advisor at the Crown Prince's Court; Prince Faisal Ibn Abdullah Ibn Abdul Aziz, Advisor to the Chief of the General Intelligence; Prince Mishaal Ibn Abdullah Ibn Abdul Aziz, Minister Plenipotentiary at the Foreign Minister's office; Prince Abdul Aziz Ibn Fahd Ibn Abdul Aziz, Minister of State, Member of the Cabinet and Chief of the Cabinet's Presidency; Prince Mansour Ibn Abdullah Ibn Abdul Aziz; Prince Majed Ibn Abdullah Ibn Abdul Aziz; ministers; and senior protocol officials.

Crown Prince Abdullah Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and President Mohammed Hosni Mubarak of Egypt held a meeting at the Crown Prince's guest residence in Sharm Al-Sheikh.

Crown Prince Abdullah briefed President Mubarak on the contents of the talks he had separately with France's President Jacques Chirac and U.S. President George W. Bush and senior officials of the two countries during his recently-concluded visits to the Republic of France and the United States of America.

The talks in Sharm Al-Sheikh covered the positive and fruitful benefits of the visits to the Arab and Islamic nations and ways of enhancing their relations with the two friendly countries.

During the meeting, Crown Prince Abdullah and President Mubarak also discussed the overall developments at the Arab and Islamic arenas, led by the Palestinian cause and the situation in Iraq.

They also discussed the developments at the international arena and the position of the two countries towards them in addition to aspects of cooperation between the two countries and ways of enhancing them in all fields of mutual interests.

The meeting was attended by the Saudi official delegation accompanying the Crown Prince. The Egyptian side included Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Nazeef; Minister of Defense and Military Production General Hussein Tantawi; Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul-Ghait; Minister of Information Dr. Anas Al-Feqi; and Minister at the Republican palace Omer Sulaiman.

Later, Crown Prince Abdullah and President Mubarak also held a closed-door meeting. President Mubarak, then, hosted a dinner party in honor of Crown Prince Abdullah. It was attended by Crown Prince Abdullah's accompanying delegation, Egypt's Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Nazeef and ministers.

Crown Prince Abdullah Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, received Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Nazeef. Following the meeting, Dr. Ahmed Nazeef accompanied Crown Prince Abdullah to Sharm Al-Sheikh Airport where he was seen off on departure by President Hosni Mubarak and a number of senior Egyptian officials.

Egyptian Minister of Information Anas Al-Feqi said that the visit of Crown Prince Abdullah Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to Egypt is very important especially during this current phase.

He told the Saudi Television that meetings between Crown Prince Abdullah and President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt are held frequently and that they have been meeting regularly to discuss regional and international issues.

He added that Crown Prince's visit is an opportunity to Saudi and Egyptian officials to meet and discuss the bilateral cooperation.

Prince Abdullah left the Egyptian resort of Sharm El-Sheikh for Damascus after holding a second round of talks with Mubarak. "The talks covered a range of issues on the Arab scene, focusing on the Palestinian issue and Iraq, and the situation in Lebanon and Syria," said Egyptian presidential spokesman Suleiman Awad.

He said Egypt and Saudi Arabia were "eager to see Lebanon maintain unity of its people" following sharp divisions between pro-Damascus parties and the opposition over the withdrawal of Syrian troops. In two rounds of talks, the leaders also discussed cooperation in combating terrorism.

Awad emphasized the significance of Prince Abdullah's meeting with Bush at his Texas ranch on April 25, adding that the Crown Prince was successful in conveying Arab viewpoints on various issues.

"The US is in need of Saudi Arabia to stabilize oil market while Arabs are in need of a US move to implement the vision presented by President Bush in 2002 on two states Palestine and Israel living side by side in peace," Awad said.

Egypt's October Magazine has pointed out that the recent visit of Crown Prince Abdullah Ibn Abdul Aziz, Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard to Egypt is very important as it is related to the future of the situations in the Arab region particularly the peace process in the Middle East.

In its latest edition, the Magazine said that the Summit between the Crown Prince and President Hosni Mubarak came in an appropriate time, stressing that Saudi-Egyptian relations have been historical, distinguished and based on respect and understanding.

Crown Prince Abdullah held talks with three influential Arab leaders Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad and Jordan's King Abdullah as part of his efforts to bring about a just and lasting peace in the Middle East.

Prince Abdullah briefed the three leaders on the outcome of his recent talks with French President Jacques Chirac and US President George W. Bush. The talks also dealt with situations in Palestine, Iraq and Lebanon and other international issues.

Prince Abdullah and President Bashar Al-Assad held talks at Damascus airport. "Though the Crown Prince's trip to Syria was short, talks between the two sides covered a wide range of important issues of mutual concern as well as ways of boosting bilateral relations," said Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal.

Syrian Foreign Minister Farouk Shara described the Arab peace plan, originally proposed by Prince Abdullah, as the basis for a just and comprehensive peace settlement in the Middle East.

Prince Abdullah later arrived in Amman on the third and last leg of his Arab tour and met with King Abdullah. Both leaders called for the resumption of peace talks with Israel on the Syrian and Lebanese tracks and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

The two leaders also supported all efforts aimed at combating terrorism that targets the Iraqi people and seeks to demolish their stability and security. They also "considered the road map, which provides for the withdrawal of Israeli troops from the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, as a basis for a just solution that guarantees rights of all parties," an official statement said.

Syria's Minister of Information Dr. Mahdi Dakhal Allah has emphasized the importance of coordination and consultation between the governments of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Syria.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, he indicated that the visit of Crown Prince Abdullah Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard to Syria laid stress on the role of the two countries in regional and international politics.

He added that during his recent tour, the Crown Prince defended Arab issues and rights, noting that his initiative for peace in the Middle East has become an initiative of all Arabs following its adoption by Beirut Summit.

Syria's Foreign Minister Farouk Al-Shara said relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Syria have been good and continually developing at various levels.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency and the Saudi Television following the talks held here today between Crown Prince Abdullah Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard and Syria's President Dr. Bashar Al-Assad, he noted that the Crown Prince's visits to France and the United States have been successful, useful, positive and in the interest of all Arabs. Al-Shara stressed that Arab countries are in need of more solidarity and unity and they need to show their just demands to all countries that can assist them. We appreciate the Kingdom's efforts in this direction as they are in the general interests and in the interests of the Kingdom, Syria, Lebanon, the Palestinians and the Arab people, he added.

The Jordanian government has welcomed the visit of Crown Prince Abdullah Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard to Jordan.

In a statement to reporters, the Government's Spokeswoman Asma Khuder said that the visit is very important as it embodies brotherly deep relations between the two countries and enhances the joint Arab action towards Arab and regional issues.

Prince Abdullah was accompanied by a delegation comprising Saudi Foreign Minister, a number of princes and ministers in addition to the Saudi ambassador in Amman.

King Abdullah II held talks with Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah Ibn Abdul Aziz, currently on a brief visit to the Kingdom, focusing on bilateral relations and the current developments in the region.

In a closed meeting followed by an enlarged one, the two leaders affirmed their keenness to pursue coordination and consultation between the two fraternal countries for the best interest of the two peoples in both countries and to serve the Arab nation's issues. "The implementation of the road map, which calls for the Israeli withdrawal from occupied the Palestinian territories be they are in Gaza strip or the West Bank, constitutes a foundation for peaceful solution that guarantees the rights of all concerned parties", Prince Abdullah said, affirming the importance of resuming the peace process on the Lebanese and Syrian tracks to achieve last and comprehensive peace.

On the Iraqi issue, the two leaders renewed their countries' keenness to stand shoulder to shoulder with Iraqi people, respect their free choice and support the political process in Iraq.

King Abdullah and Crown Prince Abdullah pledged to fight terrorism, which aims to harm the Iraqi people and undermine stability and security in this country.
